    It’s great to know how the gas detectors and accessories work but Industrial Scientific knows there is so much more to gas detection than just the equipment. This General Gas Education section will introduce you to the fundamentals of gas education. We are hoping to cover everything there is about gas detection within this section and will continue to grow it as more needs are discovered. 

    • Calibration Cylinder Disposal - Teaches customers how to properly dispose of their gas cylinders used for gas detectors
    • Carboxyhemoglobin Levels - Carboxyhemoglobin is the amount of Carbon Monoxide that has been absorbed into the blood stream. In this section, you learn to properly measure the amount.
    • Catalytic Diffusion Sensor - The Catalytic Diffusion sensor is one of the most important sensors to have in your gas detector because it detects all explosive gases. It’s very important as a user to understand how that sensor works in order to be safer in the field.
    • Electrochemical Sensors - Electrochemical sensors are widely used in the gas detector industry. There are a lot of gases that can be detected within electrochemical technology. This section allows you to understand the technology behind the sensors.
    • Gas Detector Alarm Settings - Gas Detectors have multiple levels of alarms and understanding what levels the alarms should go off at is important. This section allows you to view the typical alarms for the sensors.
    • Gas Hazard by Industry - There are multiple hazards when it comes to gas detection and the hazards vary depending on the industry. This section allows you to view what gases may exist in that industry. 
    • Glossary - Within the gas detector industry there are a lot of terms that you may hear but understand This section allows you to view the most common acronyms and terms along with their definition.
    • Intrinsic Safety - Industrial Scientific instruments are intrinsically safe, which is a design technique we use to ensure that our instruments will not be the source of ignition in a hazardous atmosphere. This section allows you to learn more about intrinsic safety.
    • LEL Correlation Factors - LEL correlation factors are used to translate instrument readings from the units of the calibration gas to the units of a second desired gas. This section allows you to view our correlation chart.
    • LEL of Cumbustible Gas - Understanding the Lower Explosive Limit of the gases that may be present in your area is important. This section allows you to view a list of common combustible gases and what percent by volume those gases will become combustible.
    • Sensor Cross Interference Level - Due to the electrochemical sensor technology certain gases have a cross interference with other gases. Knowing what levels of gas will interfere with your sensors will help you perform gas testing. This section allows you to view the chart and see the levels.
